105929: 10 Old South Tolsta

10 Old South Tolsta was a newly lotted croft in 1830 and the first occupants were Donald Macleod, Gormelia Maciver and their children: Angus, Louis, Mary and Donald. The family had previously been living in Old South Tolsta Tack. We are certain of this as the subtenants list of 1820 uses both his name and nickname. In due course 10 Old South Tolsta passed to their son, Angus.

Angus Macleod married Annie Maciver and the couple had four children at 10 Old South Tolsta: Isabella, Donald, Margaret and Annabella. In 1843 the family exchanged crofts, with widow, Mary Macdonald and settled at 1 Old South Tolsta.

Mary Macdonald settled there with at least some of her children including: Mary Campbell and Effie Campbell. In 1851, during the croft re-lotting, the family obtained 40 North Tolsta.
