Donald (1815-1885) was a son of Alexander MacKay of Pabbay.
He married Ann Paterson of Borve, Berneray. Donald and Ann lived at 11 Scalpay and they had nine children.
In the 1850s Donald lost the croft and the family moved to Am Baile where Donald was a Cottar.
