Hector (1832-1930) was a son of John Matheson and Catherine Matheson, 3 Aird Uig.
Hector married Chirsty Maciver of Tobson and took over part of 26 Valtos, creating 28 where, according to the 1901 census, he was a general merchant and a fish-curer. Hector and Chirsty had eight children.
