Alasdair Chaluim Mhurchaidh
Alexander (1827-1903) was a son of Malcolm Macleod and Christina Macleod, 2 Kershader.
He studied at the University and New College, Edinburgh. He was ordained at Strontian in 1868 and was a gospel minister at Strontian Free Church of Scotland.
At Anderston, Glasgow, in 1871, he married Christina Mackay from Glasgow. The couple lived at Strontian and they had three children, only two of whom survived.
Alexander was widowed in 1877 and in 1880, at Kilmore and Kilbride Church, Oban, he married Mary Helen MacVean from Iona.
Rev Alexander Macleod and Mary Helen's large tombstone was erected in Pettyfuir Cemetry in Oban, Argyll.
