Donald (born c1839) was a son of John Macdonald and Jane Macleod from Breaclete.
In 1853 the family emigrated to Canada and initially settled at Lingwick, Quebec. They later move to Marston, Quebec.
He married Margaret Matheson from Winslow, Quebec and formerly of 1 Erista. The couple settled at Marston, Quebec and they had a family.
