Mary (born 1872)  was a daughter of George Ferguson and Margaret Macdonald, 2 Crulivig. She was employed at Grimersta lodge as a laundry-maid when she met her future husband, Alexander Mackay, a gillie from Callanish. Mary and Alexander had five of a family;
