Murdo (1822-1897) was the son of John Macdonald and Catherine Macdonald of Quilatotar, Lewis.In 1842 Murdo obtained 1 Old North Tolsta from his brother Donald.
He married Annie Murray of 13 Old South Tolsta.They lived at 1 Old North Tolsta. In 1853 the family obtained 51 North Tolsta. Murdo and Annie had seven children.
