Mary (born 1856) was a daughter of Duncan Morrison and Margaret Maciver, 1 Lower Shader, the Schoolmaster's Croft. In 1874 the family moved to Garenin.
At Carloway, in 1880, she married George Beaton of 40 Vatisker, Back. George was a School Teacher in Lower Shader where the couple lived.
