John (born 1852) was a son of Alexander Finlayson and Mary Macleod, 10/11 Brue.
In 1878, he married Effie Macleod of 60 South Bragar. John and Effie lived at 3 Upper Barvas and they had ten children.
John died at home and is buried in Barvas Cemetery.
