115180: HMS Sparrowhawk
HMS Sparrowhawk was built by Hunter and Wigham Richardson of Wallsend, and launched in 1912. She was an Acasta-class destroyer; she joined the Royal Navy as part of the 4th Destroyer Flotilla upon completion in mid-1913.
HMS Sparrowhawk sank, on 1st June 1916 after colliding with the HMS Broke during the Battle of Jutland half way through the First World War; six of her crew were killed. The Sparrowhawk‘s wreck was discovered in 2016 on the floor of the North Sea. Her wreck is designated as a protected place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986.
