119863: HMS Queen Mary

HMS Queen Mary was a British Lion-class battlecruiser, and was active in the North Sea during the First World War. She was destroyed by the German battecruiser Derfflinger during the Battle of Jutland on 31st May 1916.

The Queen Mary‘s wreck was discovered in 1991 on the floor of the North Sea. Her wreck is designated as a protected place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986 as it is the grave of 1,266 officers and ratings.
