The MV Pacific Ranger was built in 1929 by Burmesiter & Wain, Copenhagen and owned by Furness Withy & Co Ltd.
She was en route from Seattle to Manchester carrying a cargo of lumber, metals and general cargo when she was torpedoed by a German submarine and sunk. All 53 crew were saved.
