120184: SS Innerton (142838)

This WW1 A Class Cargo Vessel was built by Ropner Shipping Co, Stockton on Tees in 1919 for the Shipping Controller, London as the SS War Scilla.

After the First World War the ship was purchased by Chapman R & Sons, Newcastle Upon Tyne and was renamed SS Innerton.

In 1944 SS Innerton was purchased by the Ministry of War Transport and was sunk and used as a Blockship in the Normandy Landings.
