This WW1 Z Class Standard Tanker was built by Wm Hamilton & Co, Ltd, Glasgow in 1919 for the Shipping Controller and was named SS War Dogra.

Purchased in 1920 by the Anglo American Oil Co and renamed SS Housatonic.

On February 19, 1941 she was on passage from Liverpool to New York working for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary she was bombed and sunk.
