The SS River Afton was a Steel Screw Cargo Steamer built by Lithgows Ltd, Port Glasgow in 1935 for the Ayrshire Navigation Company.

In convoy, on passage from Reykjavik to Archangel on July 5, 1942, the SS River Afton was torpedoed and sunk.
