The SS British Mariner was a Steam Turbine Tanker built by Palmers Shipbuilding & Iron Co Ltd, Newcastle in 1922 for the British Tanker Co, London.

On route from Freetown for Curacao on October 20, 1941 the ship was torpedoed and severely damaged with the loss of 3 crew.  The SS British Mariner was towed to port, salvaged and used as a hulk.
