120496: HMS Gleaner (J83)

The Gleaner was built by William Gray & Co, Hartlepool  in 1937 as a Survey Vessel. At the beginning of the Second World War she was converted into a Halcyon Class Minesweeper. HMS Gleaner served in the Second World War and on February 12, 1942 sunk a German U-Boat using depth charges and deck guns. An Enigma machine was seized and aided in the Cryptanalysis.
