The SS Paignton was a Cargo Steamship built by Murdoch & Murray, Glasgow in 1919 for the Wilton Steam Shiping Co Ltd, Dartmouth. She was sold in 1923 and renamed SS Ossian.
On February 3, 1947, on passage from Emden to Plymouth, the SS Ossian was mined and sunk.
