120723: HMS Kildress

HMS Kildress was a Cargo ship built by Cochrane & Sons Shipbuilders Ltd, Selby in 1918 for the Royal Navy. She served in the First World War and was sold in 1920. The ship changed owners four times and was renamed seven times.

On January 29, 1942, off Lizard Head the SS Bjornvik was bombed and sunk with the loss of 16 lives.
