120799: SS Queensland Transport (135881)

The SS Queensland Transport was a Cargo Steamship built by Irvine’s Shipbuilding and Drydock Co, West Hartlepool in 1913 for Houlder Brothers Ltd, London. She was sold four times and renamed SS Maroussio Logothetis and SS General Duchesne II.

On May 15, 1943 on passage from Rio de Janeiro to the UK via Freetown the SS Maroussio Logothetis  was torpedoed and sunk with the loss of 27 lives.
