120895: HMS Vanessa

HMS Vanessa was a V-Class Destroyer built by William Beardmore & Co, Dalmuir in 1918. She served in the First World War as the  Auxiliary Patrol Depot Ship at Stornowayand was put in reserve at Rosyth until 1939 at the outbreak of the Second World War.  She was bombed several times and repaired. HMS Vanessa was removed from Active Service in 1944 and was used as a Target Ship for Aircraft Training. HMS Vanessa was sold for scrap in 1947.
