8684: SS Empire Comet

The SS Empire Comet (Greenock, 1941?, 6914 tons) sailed in convoy for Manchester under Capt HR Willis and with a crew of 35 from Halifax, Nova Scotia on 7 February 1942. She became detached from the convoy and was not seen again; it is assumed she was torpedoed by a German submarine.
