121222: Sand Hill Cemetery, Stornoway, Quebec

Sand Hill Cemetery is situated between the villages of Stornoway and Nantes in the Eastern Townships area of Quebec, Canada; it dates from around 1837.

It is one of the Scottish cemeteries scattered about Frontenac County where settlers from the Hebrides, especially the Isle of Lewis, made their homes in the nineteenth century. Although burials have occurred there into the 21st century, the majority date from the early 20th century.

It should not be confused with a cemetery of the same name in the town of Bangor, Franklin County, New York, United States of America.
