13865: Bayble School, Point

Bayble School existed from 1877 to 2011. It was originally a Stornoway School Board school, but its management was taken over, in 1919, by the Lewis School Management Committee.

James Thompson was headmaster from 1922 to 1953.

Alexander Stewart was a teacher here (possibly until 1888).

From 1896 to 1922 Donald Maciver was a teacher here.

Angus Maclean taught here until 1931 (possibly from as early as 1922).

Norman Mackinnon was an assistant teacher here until 1915: when he resigned to enlist.
