22639: Knock House

Knock House, a combined church and school, was built in the 1840-50s. it belonged to the Free Church and was associated with the Free Church in Miavaig. When the school was built in Breaclete in the 1870s, Knock House remained as a church. It fell into disuse when the Free Church was built in Breaclete.

Norman Macleod was living at Tigh a Chaolais in Croir and to reach school from there his children had to make a detour through Bosta to avoid a wild bull. Because of this they moved to Knock House, probably in the first decade of the twentieth century.
