The first occupants of Carran Ban, or Carnan Ban, North Tolsta were Murdo Macleod and Christina Campbell. The couple had seven children. In due course the house was sold.

The house was later sold to a man from Australia.

The house was sold to a man from Yorkshire.

The house was sold to a woman. She was a Marine Biologist and moved to Harris.

The house was then sold to a man from Stornoway.
