The first occupants of Struan House, North Tolsta were Angus Nicolson, Christina Macdonald and their seven children. In due course the house was sold to Murdo Macdonald.

Murdo Macdonald married a woman from North Tolsta and they had two children.  After the Macdonalds' deaths, it passed to another local couple.
