23 Old North Tolsta was a new croft in 1845, the tenants were Norman Macleod and Catherine Macdonald. They had previously had three children while living as cottars at 1 Old North Tolsta, they had a fourth child while at 23 Old North Tolsta. In 1853 they moved to 6 North Tolsta and had their final child there.
