9 Garenin came into existence after the death of Alexander Maclennan when 8/9 Garenin was split. Alexander’s son-in-law, Murdo Maclennan, was the first tenant of 9 Garenin.

The croft was later sold to Neil Macleod, 21 North Shawbost.
