4 Old South Tolsta was divided into 4a and 4b, in 1843. The first tenants of 4a Old South Tolsta were Donald Macdonald, Christina Maciver and their first child. They couple had a second child there before obtaining 38 North Tolsta, in the 1851 croft relottings.
