First tenant of 9/10 Brenish in the 1849 relotting was Margaret Macleod (nee Maclean), 2 Old Brenish (widow of Malcolm Macleod, 8 Mealista). In the 1860s the croft was split and Margaret became first tenant of 9 Brenish. Norman  Macleod, 16 Brenish became first tenant of 10 Brenish.
