Donald Carmichael (1800-) was a tenant in Stiemreway before moving to Eishken where he lived until moving to Balallan in the 1830s. The family emigrated to Cape Breton, Canada in the 1840s.

The next tenant was John Mackay who had lived in Aline and at Kenmore, Park until the late 1830s when they moved to Kintarvie. They moved to Balallan in the 1840s. John's son Peter (1827-1882) inherited the croft which in turn was tenanted by Peter's daughter Mary (1855-1945).
