Donald Macleod (1837-1903), son of Roderick Macleod and Catherine Macarthur, 39 Balallan resided on this croft. Donald’s son Roderick (1876-1953) who was unmarried, became the tenant of the croft in 1904 and kept a small shop in part of the house. He sold the croft to his cousin, John Macleod, 2 Habost.
