16127: 13 Balallan

Murdo Smith (1764-1853) came to Balallan from Crobeg around 1830. His son Malcolm who had inherited the croft, exchanged the croft with his son in law, John Macleod, 3 Shieldinish in c1890. John’s daughter Isabella and her family had been living in Stornoway until Isabella’s husband died. She then returned to 13 Balallan, eventually moving to Glasgow.
