The first tenant of this croft was Angus Macleod (1767-1853), married to Catherine Macleod and they probably originated from Shader, Tolsta Chaolais. The croft passed to son, Donald (1805-1881) and then to Donald's son, John (1837-1909) who was married to Ann Macgregor, 9 Tolsta Chaolais.

John's family moved to Keith Street, Stornoway between 1902-04 and the croft passed to Donald Macarthur, 8b Tolsta Chaolais and then to his son, Donald John and finally to sister, Dunina Macarthur.
