21480: 16 Laxay

Malcolm Macleod and his family came from Kintarvie to Laxay. The Macleods were known as ‘na Torcuillich’ and Donald, Malcolm’s brother settled at 8 Keose. Malcolm’s son Torquil (1811-1899) was living in Garyvard before moving to Laxay in the late 1830s. Torquil’s son Fergus inherited the croft which in turn was passed to his own son, John.
