The first tenant of this croft was John Macsween (1810-1888) from Lochs. They moved to 13 Arivruach in c1850.

Roderick Macleod (1792-1867) moved from 6 or 8 Balallan and settled here. In 1888, the croft was split with Roderick's son Donald, living at 39a Balallan.
