10 Tolstadh a Chaolais

The first tenant of this croft was Alexander Macgregor (1811-1871) from Tolsta Chaolais.  He was married to Ann Macaulay, 27 Breasclete and had seven children.  In c1865, Alexander was removed to 9 Tolsta Chaolais to make way for Alexander Macdonald, former schoolmaster.

The croft was passed to Alexander Macdonald’s daughter Margaret (1829-1915) and thereafter to her son Alexander (1877-1939) and to Alexander’s son Malcolm.  The croft was subsequently sold.
