The first tenant of this croft was Malcolm Smith (1839-1915) son of Donald Smith, 8 Tong and when he died  30 Aird Tong was sold to George Thomson, 32 Aird Tong. It was sold again in 1933 to Donald Macleod, 16b Laxay and he passed the croft to his daughter, Catherine Macleod
