3019: 14 Brenish

First tenant of 14 Brenish in the 1849 relotting was widow Mary Buchanan (nee Macleod), 20 Old Brenish; cottars, Mary’s sisters-in-law Mary and Marion Buchanan, 7 Mealista; widow Mary Buchanan divided 14 Brenish between her sons Donald and  Ewen.

After Donald’s death his part of the croft 14a Brenish was added to 14b Brenish, his brother Ewen’s croft. After Ewen’s death both parts of the croft (again 14 Brenish)  passed to Ewen’s son, Malcolm Buchanan; Malcolm’s son, John Buchanan; John’s brother-in- law Murdo Buchanan, 27 Brenish.
