The house at 5 Timsgarry was built by William Macdonald and his three sons.

William came from Grasivig in Geshader, and said that the full gales that blew from the southwest up the exposed hillside at Timsgarry were much less trouble than the gusting winds of Grasivig, where the the thatch was always being blown away.
