9 Balallan

9 Balallan

The first known tenant of 9 Balallan was Murdo Kennedy. It is not known where Murdo came from. The croft was passed on to his son Donald (1801-1868) who in turn, passed it on to his own son Alexander (1838-1908). Alexander's son Alexander (1875-1953) inherited the croft, after which his son Duncan took over the tenancy.

Duncan died at the home of his daughter Annabella, after his house had been destroyed by fire in 1947. His wife Isabella and son John moved to the Nurses Cottage, Balallan.
