The first tenant of this croft was Angus Macmillan whose family were cleared from Steimreway in 1857. There were three households sharing the croft at the end of the First World War and two other sons of the croft living in temporary accommodation as landless cottars on their in-laws' crofts. Of these five families, one remained on the croft and the other four brothers with their families landraided Orinsay in 1920 and settled on crofts, 2, 4, 11 and 14.
