The Care Unit was one of an innovative series of housing built for the Social Work Department of Comhairle nan Eilean as a 'halfway house' to accommodate patients leaving hospital but not able to fend for themselves at home. It is now home for semi-dependent older folk who do not require nursing or full time care.
