67394: 16 Borve, Berneray

16 Borve was created in 1900, when the Congested Districts Board for Scotland persuaded the South Harris Estate to break up Borve Farm and re-allocate the land as crofts. 

Croft 16 was allotted to Roderick Ferguson. Following Roderick’s death it passed down the family line to Roderick and then to his son John. John lived there with his sister Rebecca, to whom the tenancy passed in 1988.
