Murdo Macleod (1814-1890), married to Rachel Martin, 38 Balallan was the first known tenant at 5 Keose. The croft was passed to their son John (1847-1925) and later to Murdo (1855-1919). Murdo's daughter Isabella and her husband George Macleod lived on the croft until widow Isabella moved to Stornoway.
