The croft at 4 Aird Tong was first lotted in 1830 and the first tenant was George Finlayson (1811-1875) and when he died he passed the croft to his widow, Mary Macleod (1811-1875), daughter of Donald, 5 Aird Tong. Mary passed the croft to her son-in-law, Malcolm Macleod (1831-1903) who passed it to his son, Peter Macleod. When Peter died 4 Aird Tong went to his cousin, Christina Macleod daughter of Murdo Macleod, 5 Aird Tong.
