13 Calbost

13 Calbost

The first tenant to occupy 13 Calbost was Kenneth Macleod (Coinneach Mor) who originally came from Carloway or Tolsta Chaolais. He was raised by his aunt Marion Mackenzie, who accompanied him, along with her son Norman (Tormod Buidh) to Calbost where they worked for the tacksman, Robert Weir.

After the death of Kenneth (1776-1837) the croft at 13 Calbost was split between his sons, John (1826-1887) at 13a Calbost and  Neil (1834-1926) at 13b Calbost.
