The first tenant of this croft was John Mackenzie (1821-1911) from 4 Habost  and the croft was passed to Murdo Mackenzie (1852-1929) and then to his son, Alexander Mackenzie (1899). 4 Gravir was then passed to Iain Mackenzie, New Zealand.

James Mackenzie, oldest son of John (1821-1911) was a Cotter on 4 Gravir.
