21333: Na Seachdnar

Norman Macdonald of 11 Kirkibost loved making up poems about people, especially locals. One day, whilst on a boat with six fellow villagers, he was asked if he could make up a poem featuring the seven on the boat at the time; quick as a flash he replied:

“Bith Domhnall Molach ri tarraing,
Is mise na’m ghille ri laimh
Tha Domhnall Sgaire di-mhearsainn
A cuideachadh Seonaidh ri seinn
Tha Negro dubh air a braighe
‘Ga cumail aig ait ris an t-sreang
‘S Eachainn ‘s Calum an ceannaiche
S a’ laimhean paisg air am broinn”
